Stuffed peppers in Budapest

It’s been a while since I posted anything in the blog. Life has been a bit hectic lately, but now I finally found some time for an update.

The last few weeks I have been busy guiding Swedish tourists in Belgium and Brussels. I’ve had two bigger groups from different floor companies. Both of them have been invited by a Belgian/American floor manufacturer to visit their factories in Belgium. And to have some fun :-)
My part has been to help out with the fun, arranging brewery visits, beer tastings and in general provide information about Belgium and Brussels. It’s been great fun for me too!
On a smaller scale, I have been guiding a Swedish family who surprised the father with a weekend in Brussels on his 50th birthday. That was fun too.

Now, I am in Budapest, Hungary. Here, I have interviewed two policemen for an article in my series about the police forces in the EU, published in the Swedish Police Unions magazine Polistidningen.

The weather was sunny and warm yesterday, perfect for strolling around in the city. Today it’s been a bit more mixed, which didn’t stop me from going to one of the marvellous bath houses they have here. Warm water, cold water, salt water and even saltier water, steam saunas, dry saunas and eucalyptus saunas. I’ve done it all, both indoors and outdoors, and highly enjoyed it. Then I climbed the castle hill on the Buda side of the Danube for a cold beer with a view.

I found a simple but charming little restaurant for my dinner tonight (Poszsonyi Kisvendéglö at Radnóti Miklós utca in the XIII district). They served me delicious stuffed peppers with potatoes and a thick, aromatic sauce. Yummi!

It’s going to be an early evening, though; my alarm goes off at 04.15 tomorrow to enable me to catch the flight to Warsaw, Poland. There, I will do more police interviews for the series, and hopefully some sightseeing.
After that, I am flying to dear old Sweden. Yes! I haven’t been ”home” since my father’s funeral in June, so it is definitely time.
