Yet another day in the field, this time with ANERA’s in-kind coordinator Hani. We visited a charitable clinic in the little village Husan south of Bethlehem. Just finding the village was difficult,as the Israeli separation wall separated it from the main road (and the villagers from their land - this is all so sad).
The goal was to write a story about the powerful antibiotic Rocephin that ANERA distributed to ten clinics in Palestine. When we came in, doctor Asyia was just taking care of little Mohammed. He got the tip of his index finger crushed under a falling brick while playing. The doctor removed dead tissue from the finger, disinfected the wound and dressed it. Then Mohammed got a shot of the antibiotic, preventing serious infections to occur.
