Next stop was another small village, Marj Na’ja, where ANERA is installing a water network. Here, I was invited into Ibrahim’s home for a glass of tea. The gentleman has lived in the village for 30 years, and surrounded by his sons and grandsons (the women where not to be seen) we talked about the situation. Further on in the village, I met an older man, Mohammed, who lived here for 50 years, In surprisingly good german (!) he told me that he was very happy about the prospect of having clean drinking water on the tap in his home. While we talked, the workers from our contractor installed a manhole outside his house and measured the pipes necessary to connect him to the new network.
