One of ANERA’s many program is a Scholarship program where unfortunate children are sponsored so that they can go to school or kindergarten. Today, I met two of these kids, Malak (which means angel, the girl on the photo) and Shahd (which means honey). Both of them at the orphanage kindergarten at the Dar al-Tifel school in Jerusalem.
It is things like this that makes the job at ANERA so rewarding, seeing that we do make a difference in peoples life. These children now get an education, and they get care from responsible grown-ups.
Yet, it is always a bit sad to learn the life-stories of these children. It is a cruel world we live in.
